  • A Parade of Ponies Holiday Gathering

    HPL Ranch 17999 W. 60th Ave., Arvada, United States

    Please join The Horse Protection League on Saturday, December 6 for “A Parade of Ponies”. The event will be held at the Ranch from 2:30 to 5:30 PM. Don’t miss your chance to support HPL and join the herd in celebrating the magic of the season. (If the weather doesn’t cooperate, it will be held the following Saturday.)   HPL will provide hot chocolate and apple cider and we encourage you to bring your favorite holiday treats (cookies, brownies, bars or similar items) for the cookie exchange. In addition, we will host a horse stall decorating contest. Bring your decorations and your imagination to the event on the 6th, for a chance to win gift certificates and bragging rights. Have your cameras ready for an excellent opportunity to capture the holiday spirit with the herd. The event will culminate with the barn lighting!   Horse Stall Windows Decorating Contest Prizes (two), one for Overall Festivity and one for the and Most Creative. Votes will be collected for each category. Decorations should include the horse’s name. Please don’t use anything the horses may be tempted to eat such as tinsel.     Come join our volunteer crew! Volunteer days are every Wednesday and Saturday from 9am - 2pm, volunteer orientation is required. Please head over to https://www.thehpl.org/volunteer-or-visit/ to fill out an application. Orientation is at the ranch from 10am to 11:30am. Dress for the weather and please wear closed toed boots/shoes. Volunteers muck pens, scrub water tanks, load hay, and groom our horses. It is hard work but very rewarding!
